Our work is seen across multiple industries with extremely high standards for quality and stringent requirements. This includes customers in semiconductor (semi-cap) manufacturing, aerospace and defense, medical, communications, and beyond. Our customers choose Benchmark because of our experience and proven capabilities and our deep level of investment in key technologies.
One of the major areas in which Precision Technologies has been heavily involved is the semiconductor capital equipment space. With investments across the United States (especially in Arizona)—and with the investment from the U.S. Federal government with the passing of the CHIPS Act—semiconductor capital equipment manufacturers are in high demand.
Today, Benchmark retains one of the largest North American semi-cap engineering and manufacturing footprints with major production facilities in Concord and Fremont (California), Rochester (Minnesota), Guadalajara and Tijuana (Mexico), Tempe, and now Mesa (Arizona). Our manufacturing services and global footprint are closely aligned with the semiconductor industry's geographic needs and facilitate the ability of customers to meet rising demand.
Benchmark is also making considerable investments in the semiconductor manufacturing space in Arizona and throughout the U.S. In fact, because we saw the writing on the wall and knew a rise in chip demand was on the horizon, our investment in new capabilities within our U.S. facilities started prior to the nation’s boom of semiconductor manufacturing capacity.
Outside of the U.S., we offer a wide global footprint with key capabilities available to our customers. Since each of our Precision Technologies locations provides engineering support—specifically machining capabilities—we add unique value to our customers across regions outside of North America. To our knowledge, competitors do not have the global breadth and depth of machining capabilities that Benchmark supports.
Since our entire team is structured around the semiconductor industry, Benchmark Precision Technologies' services are very attractive to our customers. Adding to our value, many team members have a background in semi-cap, as many of us have been on fabrication (fab) floors for most of our careers. This background gives us an intimate understanding of the unique requirements and the knowledge to address complex challenges.
We are also constantly adding new capabilities to serve a wide segment of the semiconductor industry. In the past, our team’s entire portfolio was in lithography as part of the backend process. Today, we have grown our capabilities and engaged with customers in each part of the frontend process. To that end, we also have exciting news to announce regarding our footprint in the semiconductor capital equipment market here in the United States. On March 3rd, 2023, Benchmark officially opened our newest Precision Technologies location in Mesa, Arizona. The new location increases Precision Technologies' total cleanroom capacity for complex assemblies and adds E-beam welding capabilities in Arizona.
