As a leader in helping our customers in the medical industry develop life-changing devices, Benchmark invests heavily in capabilities that allow us to take on challenges across the innovation landscape. One key area of development is microfluidics systems for in-vitro diagnostics, lab-on-chip, and other emerging applications. These devices can provide a host of capabilities for medical professionals, including diagnostics, drug delivery, personalized drug therapy, and more.
While designing both chips and devices is expensive, many design elements—such as gas, liquid, and electrical connections—can be the same from one design to the next. Reusing certain design elements makes sense in this time-intensive and often expensive process. In order to navigate the consistency needed, it is critical to have proper testing platforms for these devices and components. Here at Benchmark, we’re developing a foundational microfluidic cartridge testing platform to support the industry.
We were fortunate to have the opportunity to talk about this platform in an article written by Martin Goossens, system engineer and concept lead, Benchmark, for Commercial Micro Manufacturing. Check it out here. And if you have any questions, feel free to visit our medical technologies market page at https://www.bench.com/medical-technologies.
