Benchmark Electronics aims to double headcount at revamped Phoenix facility

Benchmark Electronics Inc. is aiming to double its headcount at its recently revamped Phoenix manufacturing facility, which manufactures electronic systems and components in a wide range of market sectors, including aerospace and defense, advanced computing, complex industrial, medical, and next-gen communications.

The facility at 3201 East Harbour Drive employs about 130 people now, mostly engineers and skilled technicians who work on constructing electronics components for clients. The manufacturing work cannot be done remotely, so the Covid-19 pandemic presented several challenges to the process, Chief Technology Officer Jan Janick said.
