ABOR seeks millions in new funding to expand ASU's engineering education capacity

The Arizona state budget request aims to establish science and technology centers that will specialize in emerging technology and be a bridge with the private sector. Benchmark's chief technology officer said the firm hired 12 full-time employees out of ASU and has worked on numerous capstone projects with both engineering students and across other academic disciplines including supply chain and business.

Benchmark moved its headquarters to Tempe from Texas two years ago, and ASU’s efforts to ramp up its engineering capacity reaffirms that coming to the Valley was a good move, he said. “We’ve always been close with ASU. They were part of our decision process,” Janick said.
