SETTING THE BENCHMARK

Benchmark's Commitment to Sustainability: 2024 Sustainability Report

by Bill Olson / February 27, 2025

Sustainability is not just a goal for Benchmark—it is an ongoing journey, and today, we take another meaningful step forward with the release of our 2024 Sustainability Report. This year’s report is more than a summary of our progress; it is a reflection of the dedication and passion that drives our teams to innovate, improve, and make a tangible impact on the world around us.

Our Progress and Partnerships

Over the past year, Benchmark has made measurable strides in sustainability. We have reduced our greenhouse gas emissions on an absolute basis by 11% from our 2021 baseline, an accomplishment that underscores our commitment to addressing climate change through concrete actions. Workplace safety remains a top priority, and we are proud to report we have decreased our recordable incident rate.

Our dedication to transparency and governance has been recognized by independent raters. As of 2024, Benchmark received an MSCI ESG Rating of AA and Sustainalytics assessed Benchmark as negligible risk in the category of ESG. Additionally, Benchmark continues to be a CDP discloser in the areas of Climate Change and Water Security.

At Benchmark, sustainability is about more than environmental responsibility, it is about people. In 2024, we expanded our global mentoring program and formalized an internship program for underrepresented students, providing meaningful career opportunities for current and future employees. The launch of Benchmark PRIDE, our third employee resource group, reinforces our commitment to inclusion. For the third year in a row, our Benchmark Environmental Challenge has engaged thousands of employees worldwide in sustainability efforts, focusing on conserving power, reducing waste, and minimizing emissions of our global operations.

Our sustainability strategy extends beyond Benchmark—we are actively working with our customers and partners to drive meaningful change. Our Product Sustainability Services offering supports our customers’ sustainability initiatives by improving their environmental impact across the product lifecycle. In designing and manufacturing products for customers that are part of the circular economy, we enable products that are more manufacturable, repairable, and upgradeable, thereby reducing waste and extending product lifecycles. Furthermore, we have greatly increased our reuse of product packaging through collaboration with customers, further minimizing environmental impact.

Sustainability is a journey filled with challenges, but each obstacle presents an opportunity to evolve and improve. This past year, we successfully built and deployed a global data management system to enhance our data collection of GHG emissions for all our sites worldwide, obtaining limited assurance on our GHG data. Navigating the rapidly evolving regulatory landscape remains a key focus, as maintaining investor ratings and customer satisfaction in this space requires continuous improvement. Our commitment to responsible governance and sustainability ensures that we are prepared to meet future expectations from investors, regulatory authorities, and customers.

With the release of our fourth Sustainability Report, we celebrate the milestones we have reached and set our sights on the path ahead. Sustainability is a shared responsibility, and we invite our customers, partners, and employees to explore the report, engage with our initiatives, and collaborate with us to build a better future. This year’s report is not just a reflection of what we have accomplished, it is an invitation to be part of something bigger. Whether you are interested in launching new sustainability initiatives, contributing ideas, or making small changes that drive big impact, your involvement matters.

Sustainability is not a destination—it is an evolution of continuous improvement. With the collective efforts of our employees, partners, and customers, we are making a difference. Let’s move forward together.
