Benchmark’s Phoenix Center of Excellence provides high-quality solutions for RF/Microwave and Microelectronics challenges, eliminating both technological and operational hurdles. Benchmark’s Ayutthaya Center of Excellence specializes in high-volume production of satellite communication devices and microwave/millimeter wave communication infrastructure products.

Utilizing microelectronics capabilities, our Ayutthaya site manufactures RF and electro-optical assemblies for on-site integration. Ayutthaya also offers test development and failure analysis services. Despite distinct specializations, the Ayutthaya and Phoenix sites collaborate closely, sharing expertise for streamlined complex build requirements. Testing Capabilities

Benchmark provides extensive test and measurement capabilities spanning from satellite Ka/Ku band to E-band millimeter wave (mmWave) frequencies. Equipped with cutting-edge microwave and mmWave test equipment — such as broadband signal generators, vector network analyzers (VNAs), high-speed digital storage oscilloscopes (DSOs), RF power meters, and wideband spectrum analyzers — our team of product design and test development engineers thoroughly analyze components, circuits, and systems up to 100 GHz. Whether assisting with product development or creating automated tests for volume production, we deliver precise and reliable results that guarantee the quality and performance of RF products.

  • Analysis of high-speed digital signals at speeds to 10 Gb/s
  • Detection and analysis of high-speed mmWave pulses for automotive and military radar testing
  • Spectrum analysis to 70 GHz

To expedite the development and streamline the manufacturing process of new products, our mmWave testing, troubleshooting, and tuning capabilities are situated alongside design engineering and manufacturing operations. Benchmark Phoenix and Ayutthaya excel at New Product Introduction (NPI) of low design margin products. The vertical integration of multiple manufacturing services required for many RF/Microwave products removes limitations posed by traditional, stove-piped manufacturing methods, especially for intricate embedded and hybrid designs. Qualification & Production

Flexibility of Production

Our Phoenix Center of Excellence specializes in low- to medium-volume production, but can seamlessly transfer designs to Benchmark Ayutthaya when required to efficiently support higher volumes or geographical proximity to customers. Regardless of the production location, however, customers can always access Phoenix’s design development resources for upgrades and enhancements.

Some products start out at lower volumes and anticipate many early design changes, but eventually move toward higher volumes once designs are stabilized. In these cases, transferring may be an ideal option. With our competitors, you may have to choose between a high-volume optimized site many timezones and flights away from your engineering team — or a U.S.-based team — that will not be able to support your volumes in the long run. The option to transfer between our Centers of Excellence gives you the best of both worlds. Processes and equipment are mirrored between Phoenix and Ayutthaya for smooth product transfers. The two teams have experience transferring designs and working together to scale manufacturing processes.
