Our ruggedization process includes early analysis of thermal and vibration behavior by computer simulation. We also conduct extensive Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) in the concept phase, which allows us to identify critical tests for prototypes in the design phase. We then perform highly accelerated life testing using temperature cycling and vibration, followed by the final qualification testing for absolute confidence.
