Functional Test Fixtures
A successful test system relies on a good test fixture. Test
fixtures are the interface between the test instrumentation, the
product under test and the test operator. Benchmark Electronics test
developers balance the requirements of all three elements.
Functional Test Fixtures
Test fixtures are developed specifically for each product or a
family of products to be tested. The fixtures are typically placed
on a test platform using an electro-mechanical interface.
By applying product design techniques to test fixture design, the mechanical
design engineering staff provides refined test fixtures matched to the
complexity of the test requirements. The Pro Engineer application allows
modeling of the mechanical fixture, automated components, product under test,
and fixture electronics.
Benchmark has implemented fixtures for a large variety of test types
including the following:
- Resistive/Continuity points
- Power supply voltages
- Analog stimulus and response
- Digital stimulus and response
- Digital data transfers
- Component programming
- Execute embedded test instructions
- Power supply regulation
- Ripple measurements
- Timing verifications
- Audio stimulus and response
- High voltage measurement
- LCD automated verification
- Product characteristic load testing
- LED verification
- more…
