End Of Life (EOL)
Managing the details as a product enters its end of life offers many
challenges. Benchmark Electronics offers End of Life support as part
of production operations and program management. We are here to
support your products from Concept through End of Life.
End of Life Overview
The End of Life (EOL) phase for a product requires careful advanced planning
and detail management to ensure costs, inventory, and equipment are controlled
while still meeting your end customer’s expectations. Benchmark Electronics
supports the product end of life activity for our customers by offering
management of all these critical areas.
The Benchmark materials organization works with your EOL forecast and your
new product’s materials forecast to disposition material to avoid costly excess
inventory. Technical and business teams help you to develop and execute to a
plan that addresses excess and obsolete equipment specific to your products.
Benchmark offers repair and upgrade services to extend the life of your
products, and reconditioning and salvage operations that can reduce the cost of
your next generation product.
At Benchmark, we understand that the end of a product’s build life is not the
end of the product’s life in the field. We offer service and warranty plans that
are critical to the existing install base long after production of the product
has ended. Materials for service needs are carefully planned to avoid
obsolescence issues. Life-time component buys and board re-layout/upgrades are
options that can help ensure your product remains serviceable for years to come.
At Benchmark, we treat all customer programs as critical and are here to help
you at all phases of your product’s life cycle.
