Design Assurance
The basis for testing/regulating to
assure a system implements design requirements as intended.
Design Assurance
Benchmark has an ASQ
Certified Reliability Engineer on staff that is dedicated to support and work
with the Test Development and Product Development project activities.
Initial reliability activities involve
computational analysis in the design and concept phases.Engineers are looking to insure the design
will meet the environmental and application requirements for the product.Typical computational analyses include Mean
Time Between Failure (MTBF), Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), Monte Carlo
Simulations, Tolerance Analysis, etc.
Once the Design team has completed the computational activities and the design has been completed and built, the prototypes and production products can undergo actual testing to insure the product meets the requirements.
Most developments require specialized testing such as:
- EMI/EMC
- Vibration
- Shock
- Humidity
- Temperature
- HALT (Highly Accelerated Life Testing)
- HASS (Highly Accelerated Stress Screening)
- Altitude
- Explosion
- Corrosive Atmosphere
- Ongoing Reliability Testing and Monitoring
Benchmark’s Design
assurance team can recommend, implement, execute and document the testing needs
of your products.
The results of these tests
may need to be submitted to Agencies for approval. Examples are:
UL, CE Mark, CSA.
Benchmark has relationships with third party test facilities to perform product
required tests and approve the results. Benchmark can also assist with required agency
submittals.
